  Question 2: Give examples which show that the wealth of a nation can be unrelated or perhaps even opposite to the wealth of the individuals living in that nation.   
  [12] Scarlett: I suppose that the most obvious examples we can find would be in the gap between the rich people of a nation and the poor. In our own country, there is a huge difference between those on welfare and those who are considered rich. It is because of this that measurements such as the GDP or even the per capita GDP do not necessarily reflect the living conditions of the people of that country. Another example would be in South American countries where there are a few extremely wealthy individuals who make their money in drug trafficking, while most of the population live in poverty.   
  Hans: The reference to the GDP-measurements is good. Many components of wealth cannot be expressed in dollars and cents, and GDP may be increased at the expense of real wealth.
