| [70] Johny: An important element that even modern capitalist society cannot buy or sell is the family. If everything in society fails, a person will always have the love from its family. Perhaps one of the most important element in today's society is our education. The government owes us the right to an education. The knowledge of the mind cannot be bought or sold for any price. |
| Hans: You call social institutions (family) “elements of wealth.” I think this can be justified under a broad definition of wealth. One cannot sell one's family and buy another one, but capitalism certainly has managed to undermine family relations and love relations by superimposing monetary interests. Money is like acid for interpersonal relations. |
