Question 77: What does Marx understand to be the riddle of money?
[72] Pepsi: According to Marx, did not consider a commodity to be value evaluated in money. Money is not the value, the commodity is the value. Money value already in the commodity is considered when the exchange of commodity is made. Marx is talked about the use value of a commodity is more important than the money value. The first main function of gold is to supply commodity with the material for the expression of their value, or to represent their values as magnitudes of the same denomination, qualitatively equal and quantitatively comparable. It acts as a universal measure of value, and only through performing this function does gold, the specific equivalent commodity, become money.
Hans: Your submission basically consisted of two quotes: first a paraphrased quote from Orvee's message [66], and then a long literal quote from Marx [188:2]. You indicated with the ::References: line in the header that you were referring to Orvee, but you did not indicate that you were quoting Marx. You cannot quote a whole paragraph from Marx without attributing him, especially since your quote was not part of the assigned readings. This costed you a lot of points.
I would also have liked you to be more explicit about wether you agree or disagree with Orvee. Your formulation: “Marx is talked about the use value of a commoditiy is more important than the money value” seems to indicate some reservation on your part, which are justified. Did you want to be polite? Many others will read your message, and they will not catch the subtleties of what you are saying unless you are very explicit with it.
You should also have put the Orvee quote and the Marx quote more in relation to each other.
