| Question 101: I am the tailor. If I have a coat and want linen, would the linen weaver, who just said “20 yards of linen is worth one coat” have to make an exchange with me? |
| [122] Slacker: Even though the linen weaver expresses the value of his/her commodity as worth one coat there is nothing in this that states that the weaver wants the coat. If the coat is the universal equivalant all producers would express the value of their commodities in coats. In fact, the inital statement may preccede a continuing statement as to the desire for a pair of trousers which is worth 1/2 a coat. This relation is expressed by the expanded relative form of value. |
