This question <94|98> overall <94|97> Maktub: <40|128-3>.
Exam Question 3: What is a commodity? Marx does not give the definition of a commodity but an analysis. How would you define the thing he analyzes? (The answer can be given in one sentence.)
[95] Maktub: question 3 nitpickings   I understand that a commodity is anything this is produced for sale or exchange, but I guess the question that I have is this: in reading the email from the class, there was an example of manure as a commodity that Navin [56] talks about. Manure isn't produced for sale or exchange, it's produced by a cow and this cow doesn't produce it for exchange. The owner of the cow now has a commodity that is exchangable, assuming somebody wants it, would Marx classify the manure as a commodity since the manure wasn't produced for sale or exchange?
