This question <93|98> overall <93|95> Hans: <86|101>.
Question 177: What does Marx mean with the “palpable difference between quality and quantity of labor,” and why is this adduced as evidence that the contents of the value determination are not mysterious?
[94] Hans: Quality Labor   Advertisements sometimes say that a product has “value”, claiming that it is produced with extra care and therefore has especially high quality, justifying that it may be pricier than others. If I understand Disgusted's [93] correctly, he thinks that Marx's concept of value is related to this. The quantity of value is determined by “social importance” (which I take to mean demand and supply), but in a Marxian economy goods are dictated to have a price depending on the labor content, due to the quality of value which the product receives from this labor. Please tell me that I am wrong and explain better what you meant, because as it stands I have to give your submission the grade C-.
