[4] LeatherBoy: I think that wealth is a good place to start. For Marx, ‘wealth’
constitutes more than just financial or monetary gains - in other words what
popularized American culture tends to mean by wealth. Instead, Marx holds
‘wealth’ as that which betters and enhances life. How a society uses its
wealth, therefore, gives us a better understanding of the priorities and
social values important in that society. It becomes a matter of
investigating not just what is missing in a society, scarcity, but what that
society does to enhance and promote human life. (What it does with what it
has.) |
