Question 200: Describe the joint work of all commodities which is necessary to appropriately express the value of one commodity.
[815] SueGirl: Joint work of all commodities.   The joint work of all commodities means that they must jointly decide on one commodity to be the general equivalent -- for instance, gold. It is a social agreement among the commodities based on the human labor put forth into each commodity. This is necessary to accurately express the value of one commodity, not because the commodities receive value from each other, but because the relations between these commodities enable them to express their values. In other words, if gold is selected as the use-value, then all commodities will individually express their values in this chosen commodity (ex: gold)
