This question <256|219> overall <294|298> Utegirl: <218|464>.
Question 275: What is the law of value? What does all this talk about “escaping” or “outwitting” the law of value mean?
[295] Utegirl: I agree with Nate on the definition that the law of value is that value, “understood as the labor time socially neecessary to produce a commodity, is conserved in the exchange of commodities.” However, I would say that “escaping” and “outwitting” the law of value is more than just how things work.
“Outwitting” the law of value is to be creative and create a better and new value for an item, rather than it's usual “value”.
As for “Escaping” the law of value “MissingMiddleToe” in [2004fa:136] states it best by saying “Marx emphasizes that the act of trying to escape the law of value is in fact following it.” The act of trying to escape the law of value, creates others to follow you.
