Question 119: When Marx wrote that labor is the father and the earth the mother of use-values, should he also have included produced means of production in addition to nature and labor?
[99] Jimmy: Nature, Labor and Use-values.   This is a subject that is interesting to anyone examining the idea of outputs and the means of production. The general assumption is that there are the two main contributions to the output of any commodity, labor and resources (nature). This should be the main idea to understand. All other factors that result from these inputs are peripherals to the main contributors. So the answer to the question, the Produced means of production should remain aside from the main two.
Of course it can be argued from any standpoint, meaning that there are many different ideas. As far as Marx is concerned, to me, seems that there are the two main factors and all else can be categorized under either or both.
Hans: Your ideas about this question are very similar to Tyler's in [77]. If this is the case, then it is better for your grade to pick a different question, where you can say something new.
