[121] Brian: Material relations of persons and social relations of things... An everyday example of material relations of persons would the
relationship between the owner of a manufacturing plant and the
employees on the manufacturing floor. The relationship only exists
between the persons because of material mediums, the owner with his
funds to pay salaries and the employees with their input into
labor. An everyday example of social relations of things is the
relationship between a buyer and seller. They come together and form a
relationship based solely on the desire to purchase or sell a
