This question <12|18> overall <12|14> Chapeye: <6|6>.
Question 8: Can one say that happiness is the only true wealth?
  [13] Chapeye: bravo Sam Houston.
i agree with passage 2) from [12] quoted below. in terms of philosophy not economcis i would like to add one thing though.
happiness: + real meaning in the life of society and person (or search thereof). this is from A. Huxley's preface to “Brave New World.” he shows a society where everyone seems to be happy, having been conditioned to lie what s/he has. yet there's no real meaning in that happiness, no free search. Brave New World is considered an antiutopia showing the extreme of capitalist CONSUMER society. this is not directly related to marxism though :)
  2) If we are speaking of happiness as an individual emotion determined by agency, then the only person to determine wealth would be the individual who determines his or her own happiness level.
In the scope of the readings, I would say that happiness (the emotion) is not the only true wealth given the definition of wealth in Annotations as anything that enhances human life, true wealth only comes from the increase of commodity because it is the commodity(“the thing”) that enhances human life. The enhancement of human life through commodity will lead to happiness. So in capitalism, happiness comes from commodity and is not a determinant of wealth.
Hans: Nice additional point. It is ok to use abbreviated sentences sometimes, but you should not forget commas and periods over it.
